The Larry Petals Detective Agency was started by NeverDead Co-Founder James T. Cunningham during the 2020 pandemic. What began as a single detective story about a down-and-out private eye dealing with the post-traumatic stress following the events of September 11th became a 3-story novella series. NeverDead Productions is thrilled to have regained the rights for the Larry Petals Detective Agency as of March of 2025 and looks forward to creating more thrilling stories about the Long Island private detective.

PLOT SYNOPSIS

Larry Petals was a beat cop in lower Manhattan when the tragic events of September 11th, 2001, changed his life forever. Struggling to move on, he retreats to his hometown on the south shore of Long Island and opens a struggling private investigator office.

Just as Larry’s life begins to regain some semblance of normalcy, a mysterious phone call shatters the calm. The job offer on the other end leads him to the secluded shores of Fire Island, where he must face the very past he tried to escape if he wants to leave the beach alive.

In this gripping tale of love, death, and betrayal, Larry Petals navigates the treacherous waters of his past and the dark secrets hidden off the coast of Long Island. Can he confront the ghosts that haunt him and emerge victorious, or will the beach claim yet another victim?
